Items to Watch for the June 18th Board of Governors’ Meeting

The Florida Board of Governors will hold a meeting at Florida Atlantic University on June 18th. Highlights of the meeting agenda include:

Strategic Planning Committee

  • Receive an update on accreditation.
  • Consider for approval the 2025 accountability plans for universities and the SUS.
  • Receive an update on the implementation of SUS 30.

Budget & Finance Committee

  • Discuss the 2025 Performance-Based Funding metrics and scores.
  • Receive an update on the new metrics for the priority area of Operational Excellence within the SUS 30 Strategic Plan.
  • Approve an emergency amendment of Regulation 9.013, Auxiliary Operations.
  • Discuss the out-of-state fee.

Audit & Compliance Committee

  • Receive an update on university operational audits and the status of the corrective actions within the Board’s Compliance Program.

Academic & Research Excellence Committee

  • Discuss updates to the 2024 Foreign Countries of Concern Report.

Academic & Student Affairs Committee

  • Receive an update on 2+2 Targeted Pathway Agreements.
  • Consider for approval the public notice of intent to amend Regulation 6.017, Criteria for Awarding a Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Consider for approval the Articulation Coordinating Committee’s policy for evaluating and awarding postsecondary credit for military training and education courses.
  • Consider for approval the Articulation Coordinating Committee’s recommendation for credit-by-exam equivalencies.

Facilities Committee

  • Validate the educational plant surveys for FAMU and UNF, and an amendment for FSU.
  • Receive an update on the utilization of space metric within the SUS 30 Strategic Plan.

Nominations & Governance Committee

  • Consider the appointment of university trustees.

Full Board

  • Confirm presidents at FAMU and FIU, and an interim president at UWF.

The Board of Governors’ meeting will be streamed live on The Florida Channel with committee meetings scheduled to begin on June 18, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The full Board meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Meeting times are subject to change.
