TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—The State University System of Florida (System) honors hard-working graduates during the spring commencement season, which will be celebrated across the state beginning this weekend. Each academic year, the System awards more than 100,000 undergraduate and graduate degrees across all 12 institutions, with 80% of in-state students currently attending a System institution without taking out a federal student loan.

“The celebration of commencement is a milestone each of our system’s graduates has worked hard to earn, and we applaud the students, parents, family members, and friends who have stood by their side through this life-changing journey,” said Board of Governors Chair Alan Levine. “The degrees our students have earned are evidence of the rigor and quality of learning our universities provide, and we are so proud of these graduates.   We hope their journey of learning continues as they embark on the next chapter of their story.”

“I congratulate Florida’s graduates as they reach this important milestone,” said System Chancellor Ray Rodrigues. “Graduates of the nation’s top-ranked higher education system are prepared to become the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, problem-solvers, and innovators who will help shape Florida’s future and drive its economy forward. Through high-quality, rigorous academic programs, the State University System ensures students are well prepared for meaningful careers and lifelong success.”

Florida’s public university graduates can look forward to the start of their professional careers, with nearly 75% employed or continuing their education and a median salary of $51,000 within just one year after graduation. The System’s graduates not only earn high-quality degrees from top-ranked institutions but are also ready for the workforce in Florida and beyond.
