Items to Watch for January 28-29 Board of Governors Meeting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Board of Governors will hold a meeting at Florida State University on Wednesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 29. Highlights of the meeting agenda include:

Academic and Research Excellence Committee

  • Consider approval of the 2026 World Class Faculty and Scholar Program Report
  • Consider approval of the 2026 Professional and Graduate Degree Excellence Program Report

Facilities Committee

  • Consider approval of the Public Notice of Intent to Amend Board of Governors Regulation 9.009

Strategic Planning Committee

  • Consider approval of Florida Atlantic University’s 2025-26 LINE Funding request

Academic and Student Affairs Committee

  • Consider approval of the 2026-27 State University General Education Course Lists
  • Consider Approval of Educational Locations Reclassifications

Budget and Finance Committee

  • Consider approval of changes to the Performance-Based Funding Model Metric 10: BOT Choice
  • Consider approval of changes to Florida Polytechnic University’s Performance-Based Funding Model Metric 8
  • Consider approval of changes to New College of Florida’s Performance-Based Funding Model Metric 8

Nomination and Governance Committee

  • Consider appointment of university trustees
  • Consider approval of the Public Notice of Intent to Amend Board of Governors Regulation 1.001

Full Board Meeting

  • Consider confirmation of the University of West Florida President-Elect
  • Consider approval of the amendment to Board of Governors Regulation 1.001, regarding presidential contract extensions

The Board of Governors meeting will be streamed live on thefloridachannel.org, with committee meetings scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 28, at 3 p.m. and Thursday, January 29, at 8:30 a.m. The full Board meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, January 29.
