Items to Watch for the November 8-9th Board of Governors’ Meeting

Budget and Finance Committee: The Board will approve benchmark changes to Metric 2 of Performance-Based Funding, approve the funding formula for the allocation of operational enhancement funds and consider approval of the University 2022-2023 Carryforward Spending Plans. Additionally, the Board will consider the approval of the Public Notice of Intent to Adopt Regulations 9.016, Prohibited Expenditures.

Strategic Planning & Budget and Finance Committee: The Board will consider approval of the 2023 New College of Florida Accountability Plan.  

Academic and Student Affairs: The Board will consider approval of the Public Notice of Intent to Amend Board of Governors Regulation 8.005, General Education Core Course Options. The Board will consider approval of the Articulation Coordinating Committee’s Policy for the Evaluation and Awarding of Postsecondary Credit for Military Combat Medics.

Strategic Planning Committee: The Board will consider the approval of the 2023 Programs of Strategic Emphasis methodology and list, as well as the 2023 System Accountability Plan. The Board will also consider a second round of approval of university proposals for receiving 2023-2024 LINE funds.  

Facilities Committee: The Board will consider approval of the 2023-2024 University Fixed Capital Outlay Budgets, and project financing proposals for FSU football stadium renovations and FAMU student housing.

Innovation and Online Committee: The Board will hear a panel discussion of Florida business and industry leaders on the important impacts of SUS online program offerings on the educational needs of their workforce and, more importantly, on employee retention, productivity, and personal growth.

Nomination and Governance Committee: The Board will consider the appointment of university trustees. 

Full Board: The Board will consider the approval of the appointment of Richard M. Corcoran, Esq. as NCF President-Elect, and the reappointment of Dr. Martha D. Saunders as the president of the University of West Florida. The Board will also provide an update on the Presidential Search Reports.

The Board of Governors’ meeting will be held on Zoom, with committee meetings scheduled to begin on November 8th, 2023, at 3:45 p.m. The full Board meeting is scheduled to begin on November 9th, 2023, at 10:45 a.m. Meeting times are subject to change.
