State University System Celebrates National Transfer Student Week and Florida’s Nation-Leading 2+2 Targeted Pathway Program

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—This week, the State University System of Florida (System) celebrates National Transfer Student Week and students pursuing bachelor’s degrees across Florida’s 12 public universities through the state’s nation-leading 2+2 Targeted Pathway program.

“Florida continues to set the standard for student success through the impact of our 2+2 articulation system; it is one of the strongest examples of how Florida’s higher education institutions work together to put students first,” said System Chancellor Ray Rodrigues. “Clear pathways from the Florida College System to public universities reduce barriers and help students earn high-value degrees. National Transfer Student Week celebrates transfer students’ success and their lasting impact on universities, communities, and the workforce.”

Florida’s longstanding partnership between the State University System and the Florida College System (FCS) continues to expand access to higher education while helping students earn a high-quality degree. Last fall, more than 55,000 students who earned an associate in arts degree from an FCS institution enrolled at a System institution, demonstrating the continued strength of Florida’s transfer pathways.

The System’s three-year graduation rate for Florida College System AA transfer students has reached a record 66%, highlighting the success of transfer students across Florida’s public universities.

Notably, Florida State University achieved a record three-year graduation rate of 85% for students who enrolled with an AA from another institution, the highest System-wide.

All 12 universities improved their three-year transfer graduation rates over the 2022-2025 academic years, with Florida Polytechnic University, the University of North Florida, and the University of South Florida showing the largest improvements.
