Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, founded on October 3, 1887, as the State Normal College for Colored Students, began classes with 15 students and two instructors.
For more than 100 years, Florida A&M University has served Floridians and the nation through its provision of preeminent educational programs, which were the building blocks of a legacy of academic excellence with caring.
