Items to Watch for the March 26-27th Board of Governors’ Meeting

Innovation and Online Committee: SUS faculty members will discuss AI strategies that can enhance teaching and improve student interactions to better prepare graduates for an increasingly complex workforce.

Audit and Compliance Committee: The Board will hear an overview of the audit results of the Performance-Based Funding as well as Preeminence and Emerging Preeminence Data Integrity process.

Budget and Finance Committee: The Board will consider approval of New College of Florida’s 2023-2024 Student Success Plan monitoring report and authorize the balance in performance-based funding to be released.

Academic and Research Excellence Committee: The Board will hear an update on the System’s Research and Innovation Dashboard, which will include research expenditures for 2023.

Strategic Planning Committee: The Board will hear an update new strategic plan process and timeline. The Board will also hear a financial aid update for the System’s resident undergraduate population.

Academic and Student Affairs Committee: The Board will consider Public Notice of Intent to Amend Board of Governors Regulation 8.006, Civic Literacy, to allow students who complete the new American History general education core course to also meet the Civic Literacy requirement.

Full Board: The Board will hear an update on the Florida Polytechnic University presidential search. Chancellor Rodrigues will present the 2024 State University System Legislative Champions with an award.

The Board of Governors’ meeting will be held on Zoom, with committee meetings scheduled to begin on March 26th, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. The full Board meeting is scheduled to begin on March 27th, 2024, at 10:10 a.m. Meeting times are subject to change.
