Budget Analyst (48001053)
The Budget Analyst reports to the Director, University Budgets and will assist in the review and approval of state university operating budget reports, prepare legislative bill analyses, generate various financial and policy analyses as assigned, and provide support for the Board of Governors Budget and Finance Committee. Additionally, this position will be involved in data compilation, project research, state matching grant programs, university E&G Carryforward Spending Plan reviews, and special assignments. Attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work under tight timelines are all important requirements of this position.
The ideal candidate will have proven budget, fiscal, communication, and computer skills to include strong working experience with Microsoft Office products with special emphasis on Excel spreadsheets, Word, and PowerPoint applications. A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with two years of experience is preferred. Five years of relevant financial work experience may substitute for a degree. Budgeting and accounting experience within a postsecondary education setting is a plus. Experience with State of Florida FLAIR and LAS/PBS systems is preferred, but not required.
