DEFINITION:                                                                     
   The categorization of a student within a Cohort Group as                     
   defined for SUS Retention and Federal Student Right-To-Know                  
   (SRK) Reporting.                                                             

ALGORITHM:                                                                      
   Students selected for inclusion within each Cohort Year are those            
   whose Date of Most Recent Admission, 01413, (or Date of Entry,               
   01064, prior to summer 1993) equals Term Identifier, 01051, and              
   whose Classification Level (01060) is either L (lower division               
   undergraduate) or U (upper division undergraduate).  Degree,                 
   Highest Level Held (01112) must be less than a Bachelors.                    
   Students are categorized by Cohort Type according to the values              
   reported in Type of Student at Date of Entry or Type of Student              
   at Time of Most Recent Admission.                                            
   Students classified as a 'B' (Beginner-First-Time-In-College) and            
   'E' (Early Admit) in Type of Student at Date of Entry (01068) or             
   Type of Student at Time of Most Recent Admission (01413 -starting            
   Summer 1993) are the values selected for SUS and Federal FTIC                
   Reporting.                                                                   
   The following criteria is used to classify students as Florida               
   public community college transfers.                                          
   For Cohort Type 'A' - transfer from a Florida public community               
   college the following additional criteria must be met.                       
   (1)  Type of Student at Date of Entry (01068) equals 'J' or Type             
        of Student at Time of Most Recent Admission (01413 -                    
        starting summer 1993) equals 'J'.                                       
   (2)  Highest Degree Held (1112) equals associates (A).                       
        after summer 1992) equals a Florida Public Community                    
   (3)  Last Institution (01067) equals a Florida Public Community              
        College, or Institution granting Highest Degree (01411)                 
        must equal a Florida Public Community College (beginning                
        Summer 1993).                                                           
   The student is designated as 'C' (Non-AA Florida Public                      
   Community College transfer if the following conditions are met.              
   (1)  Type of Student at Date of Entry (01068) or Type of Student             
        at Time of Most Recent Admission (01413 - starting in summer            
        1993) equals 'J'.                                                       
   (2)  Highest Degree held (01112) does not equal associate or                 
        higher degree.                                                          
   (3)  Last Institution Code (01067) equals a Florida Public                   
        Community College.
