3 Fellowship Matriculation Fee Waiver
V Road-to-Independence Scholarship Program
FS 409.1451(5)(2)(b)
Intended to help eligible students who are former
foster children in this state to receive the
educational and vocational training needed to
achieve independence. Students eligible for the
Road-to-Independence Scholarship Program may also
be eligible for educational fee waivers for
workforce development postsecondary programs,
community colleges, and universities, pursuant to
FS 1009.25(2)(c).

Any graduate student who is enrolled in a state
school psychology training program is entitled to
a waiver of registration fees for internship credit.
2 Fla National Guard Tuition & Fees One-Half Exemptions

Certain members of the active Florida National
Guard shall be exempt from the payment of one-half
of the cost of tuition and fees.

4 Adoptees from Department of Children and Family

A Student who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate
nighttime residence or whose primary nighttime
residence is a public or private shelter designed
to provide temporary residence for individuals
intended to be institutionalized, or a public
or private place not designed for, or ordinarily
used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for
human beings.

Student must be degree-seeking, a FL resdient now and
at the time the decoration was awarded, and must
submit a DD-214 form to the university. The student
shall be exempt from 110% of the number of required
credit hours of the degree or certificate program.

W Linkage Tuition Exemption
Each institute shall be allowed to exempt up to 25
full-time equivalent students per year from the
respective host countries to study in any of
Florida's state universities or community colleges
as resident students for tuition purposes
(FS 1009.21). The institute directors, in
cooperation with the Florida commission on inter-
national education, shall develop criteria for the
selection of such students. Students shall return
home after their tenure of graduate or undergraduate
study for a length of time equal to their exemption
period (FS 288.8175(5)).

6 University Guaranteed Fees
These are fees that have not been paid by the
student, but for which the university guarantees
payment. The university has three years to collect
the tuition from the student before it has to pay
the debt. The student continues to be liable for
payment. If the student pays the tuition after the
university has made the payment, then the university
is reimbursed for that tuition.
