Florida Atlantic University will be instructing teachers how to pass on good financial management: The College of Business received $5,000 from State Farm to provide financial literacy programming to local educators, FAU announced Wednesday.
“One of the leading issues in secondary education today is promoting financial literacy,” said William Bosshardt, associate professor and director of FAU’s Center for Economic Education in the College of Business. “Training secondary school educators how to introduce this topic in their classes is the first step in promoting financial literacy in middle and high schools.”
His center will offer programs for K-12 teachers to help them teach personal finance concepts in an innovative way. It has recently offered similar programs that covered income, investing and insuring for students in secondary schools.
“We are proud to support FAU’s financial literacy initiatives in our local schools,” said Jose Soto, public affairs specialist at State Farm.
