PRESS RELEASE: Board of Governors announces appointment to UF Board of Trustees
TALLAHASSEE—The Florida Board of Governors today appointed David Thomas, of Windermere, to the University of Florida Board of Trustees.
Thomas is the retired CEO and chairman of IMS Health Inc. He is also the former senior vice president and group executive of IBM, where he worked for nearly three decades. Thomas has both bachelor’s and master’s engineering degrees from the UF.
His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate and participation in a new member orientation, and his term runs through Jan. 6, 2018.
“We are fortunate to have Boards of Trustees across the state made up of well-qualified and dedicated individuals, with broad ranges of experience and expertise,” said Mori Hosseini, chair of the Board of Governors Trustee Nominating Committee. “We are proud to welcome David Thomas to their ranks. His contributions to the University of Florida will no doubt make the whole System stronger.”
