Distance Learning Opportunities
Distance learning programs provide a valuable service to students who have unique and challenging life conditions that affect their ability to pursue and complete a postsecondary degree. Distance learning is any type of instructional delivery in which the student and the instructor are not in the same place. Textbooks, DVDs, audiotapes, CDs and/or computers provide content and communication between students and the instructor. E-mail, chat sessions, and discussion boards enable communication in real time (synchronously) or anytime when accessed through a course Web site (asynchronously).
Along with links to each university's distance learning information, there are sites that coordinate information for the state or the southeast region.
