R. E. LeMon, Associate Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs
Dr. R.E. LeMon provides professional counsel and support regarding the State University System's efforts to develop high-quality professional education programs (e.g., medical education) to meet state needs; to align research and develop activities with statewide economic development strategies; to increase technology-based business in the state; and to facilitate value-added job creation through continuous improvement in university research, entrepreneurship, and capital development programs.
Dr. LeMon has extensive experience in higher education administration, having been on the staff of the Office of the Chancellor since 1988. A native of Indiana, Dr. LeMon attended Trinity College, Oxford, and Western Michigan University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English. He holds a master's degree in Creative Writing from Stanford University, and he earned his Ph.D. in Education from Florida State University.
Dr. LeMon has traveled widely and has lived and worked abroad. He held academic positions at the University of New Orleans, the University of the Ryukyus in Japan and Suzhou University in the Peoples' Republic of China.
