Frank T. Martin
Frank T. Martin of Tallahassee is Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. He is Senior Vice President – Transit and Rail for Atkins, North America. In this role, Martin is responsible for developing the strategic vision and managing the corporation’s transit and rail business sector in North America. Martin has more than 35 years senior transit management experience in the operating, maintaining and planning of rail and bus transportation systems. He has served as either the Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer of urban transit systems for most of his professional career. Prior to joining Atkins in February 2004, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in San Jose, California and the Director of Rail Services for Miami Dade Transit in Miami Dade County, FL, respectively.
He currently serves on several national transportation boards including the American Public Transportation Association’s Business Members Board of Governors (BMBG), the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) and Transportation Research Board's Transportation Cooperative Research Program J-7 Research Panel. He has served of the following local boards; Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Board, Artz-In-the-Hood, Leadership Birmingham, and Leadership Gainesville.
Martin received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Tennessee State University in 1973 and a master's degree in urban and regional planning (MURP) from Fisk University in 1974.
